Big and tall mens clothing sizes used to be identified only as XXXL/XXXXL a long time ago. If you’re out shopping, and happen to be just an XL guy, then you’ll be considered a Big and Tall guy. Well, what has been happening is clothes are being made for smaller people, so the sizes on the labels are normally smaller than they used to be. While women are very much aware of this, because its been a common practice with women’s clothes, it is something new for men’s clothing. The good news is that this means more stores than ever before are featuring sections for big and tall mens clothing. Here is how to shop for the clothing you need and get the best deals possible.

You can’t always trust the sizes on the labels, so be sure to try them on before you buy and leave. The reason is simple, standard and uniform sizes really don’t exist, anymore. What this causes is clothes labeled the same size will be very loose, and others will be very tight when you try them on. No one likes that sinking feeling when you get home, try something on (the first time), and realize it doesn’t fit – and you’re looking at a trip back to the store. So just trying on first, in the first place, may save you a return trip plus getting annoyed about it later. Haven’t you ever bought something that looks really terrific, the label size is right, but when you try it on after you get home it looks awful? It seems very many adults are not particulary fond of going to the mall, but sometimes this may be worth it – especially if you’re looking for more formal clothes. Horizontal stripes give the effect of an optical illusion that makes you look much wider than you realy are. Vertical stripes could sometimes make your torso look longer, but they can also curve around a bigger belly and make it look much more rounded. If you can, try to pick solid colors or different pattern types instead. You should also try to pick clothing with a lower cut waistline. High waisted pants don’t really suit many people, which could be one reason why they aren’t readily available any longer. Try to choose pants that sit a bit lower down on the hips.
